kids...ABC'S
My son never ceaces top amaze me. He's really my best friend in the whole world. He comes up with some of the funniest things.
The other night I thought I had a mini Bruce Banner on my hands. My son had a splinter in his big toe for a few days and we were hoping it would work it's way out but it didn't.
That meant we had to take it out and he wasn't having any of it. It took the two of us to get him strapped down and to start the procedure. He has just pissed. There was no pain involed but he didn't get that. My wife had tried a few times all unsuccesful. I grabbed the tweezers and grabbed his toe and did what had to be done. He was thrashing around and hitting me in the back and head. He has a pretty mean right hook. He kept yelling, " I HAVE THE POWER!". I eventually got it out and all was good. I asked him what the "power" was. He said it was the milk and cereal he eats. We tell him that he has to eat it so he will be big and strong.

I never would have thought a kid could have been such a monster and look like this.
On a better note my son is now a card carrying member of 'The I Know My ABC's' club. He is 4 and just now got them down. Is this late? He is alway preoccupied with bugs and how things work than to actually know his ABC's. We are so very proud of this kid. He still gets a little leary around W but that should be licked in a few weeks. I would have to say the best part of him knowing them is that when he is done he says, "Thank you, thank you, I will be here till Thursday." How funny is that?

That's really cute! 4 isn't late. My girl still doesn't know her ABC's and frankly, she doesn't want to know her ABC's. We worry about her because she is so darn impulsive and very, very, very strong willed. If she wants to do something - she'll do it. If she doesn't want to do something, no matter how many time-outs that girl gets, or things taken from her, or sent to her room - she will NOT do it. Either we haven't found the "right currency" as Dr. Phil suggests, or she's got us beat!

My son spent 3 hours in his room the other day. That is how hardcore he is. Stubborn little shit!

Damn! He is just as stubborn as my little shit! She stayed in her room one night for quite a while - can't remember the time, because when the children are done in time-out before they can go and play they must tell us why they were sent to time-out. Well, the girl didn't want to. We tell them before they are sent to T.O. why they're going. I also told her before asking her and she still wouldn't tell me the bad words she wasn't to say. She picks up little gems from preschool. Nothing really bad, but words we don't say in our house. (stupid, shut-up that type of stuff) Anyways, she never did say it. Grrrrrr
